ABOUT

Dr. Manuel Leyes is a world renowned specialist in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Knee Society and a member of the Spanish Arthroscopy Association. Dr. Leyes is the author of numerous international publications and recipient of awards such as the National Research Award from the Spanish Society of Orthopedic Surgery. He has specialized in treatment of sports injuries focusing on arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee and ankle with a special interest in knee arthrosis.
Dr. Leyes and his team conduct more than 1100 surgeries per year and he has treated many pro athletes such as two times Tour de France winner Alberto Contador.

Dr Leyes is in charge of the Shoulder and Knee unit of the Clinica Mapfre de Medicina del Tenis and Head of Leyes, Flores & Associates Medical Team.

Awarded Sanitas First Prize by the Ministry of Education and National Board of Medical Specializations to the resident internal doctor with the best curriculum in Spain.

Antena de Oro 2010 granted by the Federation of Radio and Television Associations of Spain in recognition of the most outstanding professionals in the field of science.

He is the author of 70 national and international publications and of more than 250 communications to national and international congresses.

First Spanish surgeon selected by the European Knee Society to represent them in a traveling fellowship in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

National Research Award of the Spanish Society of Orthopedic Surgery and twice recipient of the National Award of the Spanish Knee Society .

Head of the Knee unit at the FREMAP Hospital Madrid and Consultant in Traumatology of the soccer teams Atlético Madrid, Getafe CF, Real Zaragoza and the Spanish Sports Gymnastics Federation Judo and Karate (2006-2009).
